Ferns series
Fern Cascade 1 and Fern Cascade 2 are based on images of fern beds found in protected wet cliffs along the Veil of Tears walk at Wentworth Falls NSW:
Walking along this precarious trail perched midway down between two vertical sandstone cliffs you come upon these cascades of ferns as strange oases amongst masses of rock. There were several different species of ferns with different frond morphology and colour. These ferns had just produced new fronds with surprising bright colours that were initially mistaken for flowers. Overall, these ferns were beautiful but with a strange ancient mysterious aura.
